It just sounds like maybe it was several families living together in one house, not necessarily in separate apartments, butt I am not familiar with these kinds of "big city" situations. Does anyone have any idea if a large, older home in Chicago would have beeen subdivided into separate living quarters for different famliies in the 1960s and 70s? I have only seen this type of thing in larger Southern cities and usually by the time the houses were subdivided the neighborhoods had gotten pretty seedy.

According to the Lupico column, she "grew up in a two-story house on Euclid Ave. in Chicago’s South Side area, in a second-floor apartment her parents rented from her aunt."

Just lost a truly brilliant post, butt I'll try to re-create it. The article with these pictures was up early at lucianne.com. I went back to it later to post a comment, but found it gone. Oooops. What happened to it. I wanted to say it's possible Wee Won #1 was not happy because she had to be in public with two whopping fever blisters on her upper lip. Or it looks like two whopping fever blisters. I also was going to ask 'why the long face' but remembered that question is reserved for Jon F'n Cary. She is changing right before our very eyes!

Also, it's beginning to look like one of the requirements of a president is to be able to COLOR WITHIN THE LINES. Zippy should be pretty good at it by the time he and Mooch get retired next November. They get enough practice at their little community photo ops.

ant...yes. Though the word below the comment changes from "Like" to "Liked' after you've clicked it, the action doesn't reach the server until you reload (or something like that). Your "Likes" sit there in a kind of limbo, showing up on the screen but not actually registering.

It's weird and drives me nuts when I lose twenty "Likes" but I always go back over the post and restore tham. A commenter shouldn't have to lose a thumbs up because of a hitch in the software.

Looks very comfortable doing an odd job like assembling a shelf, eh?

So what's the deal with turning every holiday into a "Day of Service"? Haven't the Obamas already urged us to celebrate 9/11, Thanksgiving, and Christmas as a "Day of Service" by doing some sort of volumnteer work. I have nothing against volunteering and otherwise assisting charitable organizations, but it seems like they are constantly attempting to redefine each holiday to serve their goals - something along the line of reprogramming us all to feel obligated to take care of our fellow Americans. It's just weird.

At the beginning of the O'Bummer administration, I was appalled by the classless behavior of Barky and Moo ("I won." and Moo telling the little girl at the school they visited within a couple weeks of inauguration, when she said she wanted to be First Lady when she grew up, "It doesn't pay much").

I finally logged on to the WH website and told them I'd heard of sore losers, but I'd never seen sore winners before, and told them they needed to class it up. Shortly after that, I received a blast email from Moo announcing a site where all us little people could go to write our congratulations to them for winning. Wha??? WhoTF EVER solicits congratulations?

Then, remember when the WH got in trouble for harvesting email addresses from the WH website and had to delete them all? Before they were deleted, I got a personal email from Barack Obama (he chose to read my email as one of those 20 letters from the peasants that he supposedly reads every day or every week, whatever). In it he thanked me for my warm wishes for his success. I had told him he was a dolt. So, I learned firsthand that not only did Barky flunk Econ 101, his Reading Comprehension scores are not in the passing category, either.

Please, God, help us eject these people from the White House, and give us another chance. Amen.
