FLOTUS Friday–Hurricane Edition

Let’s be honest, ‘best’ of anything lists are never more than popularity contests. So who was surprised that Vanity Fair’s ‘Best Dressed’ list included former FLOTUS Michelle but shunned current FLOTUS Melania. President Trump – and by extension his wife – remain unpopular with extreme prejudice in the Deep State Media.  But perhaps Business Insider, in another snarky article comparing the cost of Melania’s outfits to those of Michelle’s, reveals a partial explanation of their unpopularity: not only are the Trumps wealthy, they don’t have the good sense to be embarrassed by it.

Melania and her husband have long embodied a more gold-plated, luxe version of the American dream than the Obamas.

It's a version of opulence that repulses many, especially progressives.

Of course in the comparison of the two FLOTUSes Business Insider fails to note one obvious distinction: Melania could afford to wear any damn thing she chose long before her husband decided to run for president.

So in summary, the reason Melania Trump is not on Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed list is simple: jealousy, with a side order of virtue signaling. I can certainly think of no other reason anyone would consider this exemplary of ‘best’ of anything let alone ‘dressed’ -

As you know, I could go on…and on; but I won’t. You’re welcome. Let me just say I can’t see how under any legitimate metric Michelle could possibly rank higher than someone who looks like this when she’s “dressing down”

Oh, and a quick post note: it looks like President Trump was right again when he tweeted this last December:

According to Politico Graydon is calling it quits. Pity, he’s the only person I can think of that could give PDJT a run for the #1 spot on the ‘funkiest hair’ list. On second thought, it’s not really a contest:

What gives this dufus the right to criticize anyone for anything? Oh, that’s right: money, and the power of the press.
