Gay Pride: It’s the New Black

The best argument for gay marriage so far:

And in case you missed it last night, allow me to repeat this brilliant assignment from Sr. Agnes’ 10th grade typing class -

I typed that quote over and over in Sr. Agnes’ class, ultimately learning the skill of touch typing butt never really understanding it. Alas, tyranny wasn’t as real- and popular - in 10th grade as it is in the 21st century.

When Words No Longer Matter…

When words no longer matter…we cease to be a nation of laws and become a nation of Scotuscare. When words no longer matter the Judicial Branch can appropriate the powers of the Legislative Branch…which they have more or less conceded to the Executive Branch anyway.

Another Skinny, Big-eared Man of Color Wants To Be President

Question: Does America really need another skinny, big-eared man of color as president?

If you consider the concept of the American melting pot a form of racial “micro-aggression” you probably won’t like Bobby Jindal – a first generation Indian (no, sorry, not Native) who has assimilated American values better than most Americans whose roots go back generations.

On the other hand, if you think America needs fewer salad bowls and more fondues, this guy’s for you. Read or watch Bobby Jindal’s all-American speech. Highlights: he will secure the borders, replace ObamaKare, grow the private sector and rebuild America’s defenses. Simple, butt impressive.

“All This For A Damned Flag?”

Have you been following this flag controversy?

“Walmart, Amazon, eBay and Sears all announced bans on the sale of Confederate flag merchandise, amid an intensifying national debate over the use of the controversial flag.”

The confederate flag has been deemed to be a dog whistle and as such should be considered an offensive racial artifact. And since “we won” it must come down.

Even some of our more opportunistic astute presidential candidates have weighed in:

CAUTION: Objects in the NYT may appear different than in reality

Although I don’t think it was Fox News that was tricked by a 16-year-old into reporting that Dylann Roof blogged about “My Little Pony.” That would have been the New York Times

Speaking of detached, I wonder how Amerika’s newspaper of record will deal with this “fact”: A black friend of Dylann Roof says that Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church was Plan B. Chosen because Plan A (College of Charleston) had armed security. (Fox News)

 

NOTE: Raj update. Neurosurgeon concurs with initial diagnosis; a severely ruptured disk. Surgery is the only resolution. If you saw the MRI you wouldn’t have to be a neurosurgeon to see why. Despite being placed on “priority” status we were told that surgery would be unlikely until after the Fourth. Butt don’t worry, there’s no doctor shortage in the US of A.The good news is that they’ve made great strides in this type of surgical procedure and it will be done arthroscopically by a skilled surgeon who’s done thousands of these and barring complications will be done on an out-patient basis.

Wake Up America: One Man’s Ceiling Is Another Man’s Floor

It’s official: the summer solstice arrives at 12:38 p.m. EDT. On this, the official Summer Solstice, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful and fruitful summer.

And speaking of berries, it’s a shame neither Barry nor his progeny will be home in the Big White to celebrate either the solstice or Fathers Day this year. Butt don’t let that spoil your day.

Because the Summer Solstice is here and that means that - once again - the hottest days of the year lie ahead, whether you believe the earth is warming due to my SUV or not.

And Happy Father’s day to everyone who is a dad, has a dad,  once had a dad, played one on TeeVee or slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Enjoy this double-dip day of celebration by either making future memories with your dad or enjoying the ones you have garnered over a lifetime.

I realize not everyone had the ideal Dad like those portrayed in these once-upon-a-time in a land far, far away TV shows:

Butt back then at least most dad’s still aspired to the ideal of fatherhood, rather than just being a baby-daddy.

Of course that was in the way-back machine before the enlightened progressives shared their view of the world with America. You know, back before white men were deemed to be racist, sexist, stupid, inept and generally unnecessary in the modern world.

So thanks for that, Norman Lear, and Happy Father’s Day to you too!

So on the day that the sun reaches it’s highest point in the northern skies I leave you with this final thought to ponder: one man’s Summer Solstice is another man’s Winter Solstice.
