PDJT: He’s Got a Pen & a Sword and He Knows How to Use Them

Although John McCain wrote that he regrets having selected Sarah Palin as his running mate she continues to speak highly of him:

That strikes me as pretty classy, considering a great many of us voted for her, not John McCain, in ‘08. And unlike the phony bologna Leftists who spend a lot of time virtue-signaling that they’re better than you,

mo hi-lo

Conservatives like Sarah Palin just act on those principles.

And just what does the Left consider “going higher” anyway?

trmp attackIt may not be what you consider “higher”

Keep in mind that since they also assume themselves to be morally superior they believe they are free to accomplish their objectives through any means necessary – a tactic seldom consistent with “going higher.”

For illustrative purposes here are a few examples of what Democrats consider“going higher” in order to win:

  • Use your campaign to fund the manufactured-out-of-whole-cloth Steele dossier to discredit your opponent.
  • Use Organizing for Action (formerly  Obama for America,  formerly Organizing for America) to pay Stormy Daniel’s attorney to pursue her allegations against PDJT.
  • Use the FBI to plant a mole inside the Trump campaign, in order to discredit your opponent and pursue allegations against PDJT.
  • Use the IRS to “punish your enemies.”
  • Use the government purse to “reward your friends.”
  • Withhold information from Congressional investigations that would make you look bad or your opponent look good.

So this is my message for the Left: take you own advice and Just Shut Up! Stop complaining about the “debasement” of politics. You invented the stratagem, we just embraced it. Just like we didn’t invent a divisive presidency: Barack Hussein Obama pretty much did that on his own, although his rich friends pitched in to help.

I’m sure you understand the problem: live by the sword, die by the sword.  And unfortunately we’ve seen how the pen is mightier than the sword.

#FLOTUSFRIDAY: #BeBest

FLOTUS was busy this week.

Announcing her Be Best initiative.

Who looks that good at 2:00 am?

noko

And the MSM coverage was everything we’ve come to expect: Gasp! Melania wears white pumps before Memorial Day! Melania designs her own logo, and it’s just as bad as you think! Melania plagiarizes…again! Too much talk, not enough action! Who’s being dismissive, even derisive, of women now I ask you?

And by the way, in the FLOTUS logo contest I’m giving it to Melania because not only is it simple,

be-best-Melania-Trump-logo_dezeen_2364_col_0-852x479

but it was done for FREE, by the FLOTUS herself.

Which is way better than the $2 million plate logo that Lady M had developed in her own image and likeness:

my plate

“According to the New York Times, the U.S.D.A. has already spent $2 million developing and promoting the plate logo, costs that covered research, focus groups and the creation of a new Web site. That total will likely swell after publicity efforts are kicked off in the first year of the new  campaign announced this morning by First Lady Obama, who promised that her Let’s Move initiative would continue to work to promote MyPlate in coming months.” Forbes

And that doesn’t even count the cost of the very creative “Let’s Move” logo that Lady M also did not create herself - somebody else did that for her.

Oh look! There’s an apple! How clever!!!!

Don’t Worry, I’ve Got Your Back

These clowns know no shame:

SchumerClown

“No regime has the right to hold American citizens in captivity without cause, and under no circumstances should American citizens be viewed as bargaining chips.

“If countries in the world think they can detain Americans and get something in return, we’ll see many more hostages.” Chuck E. Schumer, Oracle of the West, on the release of the NoKo prisoners

Where were you with that wise-acre mouth of yours when Obama negotiated with Iran for the release of our Navy prisoners?

navy sailors held by iran royal guard

Or when he negotiated for the release of U.S. Army deserter, Bowe Bergdahl:

bowe bergdahl

Can you ‘splain how that works again? We’re not to negotiate the release of political prisoners from an enemy state that has decided that it’s in their best interest to mothball its nuclear program and play ball with the U.S.; but it’s okay to negotiate with terrorists who have attacked us and vowed to do so again?

Bergdahl_release_announcement

It’s okay for the U.S. President to trade 5 high-level Taliban commanders from Gitmo for one deserter as long as there’s a great photo-op in the Rose Garden with a couple of hip parents?

I recall there were many who voiced concerns about the negotiated release of Bowe Bergdahl but Chucky’s was not among them.

Even the conservative media are now suggesting it was the Bergdahl–Taliban swap that marked Obama’s reckless departure from longstanding American policy against negotiation with terrorists, and in particular against exchanging captured terrorists for hostages. This policy reversal has indeed incentivized jihadists to capture more Westerners, and prompted state sponsors of jihadists, such as Qatar, to propose more prisoner swaps. Moreover, the Obama strategy has deprived the U.S. of any moral authority or leadership influence to dissuade other countries, such as Jordan, from releasing anti-American jihadists in similar prisoner exchanges. – Andrew McCarthy, National Review

But as we well know, the rules that apply to Republicans in general and VSGPDT in particular are completely different from the rules that apply to Leftists.

Be careful Chucky, your situational ethics are showing.

Your Sedition Is Not Helpful

mueller investigation

Do you need any more evidence to confirm that the Special Counsel is conducting a witch hunt intended to entrap VSGPDT?

Mueller rejects Trump request to answer questions in writing.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is now on President Trump's legal team, told CBS News correspondent Paula Reid Monday that special counsel Robert Mueller's office has rejected proposals to allow Mr. Trump to answer questions from investigators in writing.

No, you do not. Even the Never-Trumpers have figured this out.

The Science Is Settled: It’s Filled With Stars

“There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.” - Donald Rumsfeld

Trenton McKinley of Mobile, Alabama, suffered severe brain trauma from a freak dune buggy accident in March. Doctors told his parents he was braindead. They said that if he survived he’d be in a vegetative state. So they signed the organ donation papers.

After days of being brain dead, his parents signed papers to donate his organs to five separate children needing transplants.

She continued: “The next day I got a call...they canceled the final brain wave test...right before they hooked him up his hand moved. Then his feet...so they looked at his eyes and they were back...he had blue eyes...now they are green with small white specks like glitter... – People

eye of god Helix NebulaThe Helix Nebula, created at the end of the life of a Sun-like star.

…they say when you look upon God…pigment changes…and my baby was in heaven for a whole day….he is a miracle.”

Trenton faces a long, long road to complete recovery as he relearns to walk and deals with additional surgeries on his cranium but his memory is intact and he can read, write and do math problems with his new green glitter specked eyes.

At the time Rumsfeld made his sage comment, the MSM went into a frenzy of hysterical mockery but ultimately the joke is on them, he was right: science is never “settled.” Because there will always be unknown unknowns. Remember, we didn’t make this planet, we just live here. Or to put it in terms that Leftists might better understand: we didn’t build this universe by ourselves, Somebody else did that for us…

Jean Carré, Still Suffering From Super-Hero Syndrome

I’ve got to cut and run, as the road is calling. But in case you missed it I’d highly recommend Clarice’s Pieces from yesterday: Judge Ellis Wants to See Mueller's Hunting License.

For some reason it reminded me of John “Can I get me a hunting license here?” Kerry.

kerry_shotgunning

John Kerry’s hunting license has long since been revoked but that doesn’t seem to stop him from roaming the fields, looking to bag himself another medal of valor for consorting with the enemy.

As Fox News reported, Kerry is actively engaged in “shadow diplomacy” in an attempt to preserve the Iran nuclear deal, to which he feels attached.

Specifically, “Kerry sat down twice with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in recent months to strategize in a bid to save the deal, as part of what the Globe described as ‘an aggressive yet stealthy’ mission to put pressure on the Trump administration …”

For his own purposes and to preserve his own unelected, unappointed, and unauthorized political agenda, Mr. Kerry will probably continue chasing the Nobel Prize he never got, so badly wanted and still feels he deserves – all for that horrific Iran deal.

All I can say is thank you, Jean Carré, for providing me another opportunity to post my favorite separated-at-birth picture:

That’s it, I’m out of here. Have a good day everyone.

Guns and Roses

Along with everyone else I was betting on Justify to win the run for the roses.  And win he did, by an impressive two and a half lengths – in the mud no less! This was only his 4th race and he’s won all of them.

justifyIn the stretch, with nobody breathing down his neck

Although the truth is whether you win by a length or by a nose, it’s still a win. Just ask Donald Trump.

The real reason I was hoping this Kentucky bred beauty would win is so I could speculate if he was named after the Justified TV series also set in Kentucky. It was one of my winter binge-watching obsessions. It’s a six season series (2010-15) about a somewhat rogue U.S. Marshall based in Harlan county Kentucky. I suspect  the residents of Kentucky are not fond of the way their state is portrayed as a viper filled pit of crime, neo-Nazis, meth dealers, born again charlatans and strip mining, but it is cinema, after all. And the show contains plenty of gun work, Raylan is involved in at least one violent confrontation per show.

Now I’m not normally a fan of the crime genre but as I made Raj watch The Crown (which he surprisingly enjoyed almost as much as I did), Justified was his pick. And as it turned out, it was a fine one; well crafted and well written, the show provided many long winter evenings worth of entertainment.

Timothy Olyphant stars as the Kentucky born laconic U. S. Marshall Raylan Gibbons, a man who seems not so much flawed, although he is, as he does incomplete. The Raylan character is the creation of the brilliant Elmore Leonard – a renowned literary crime writer sometimes known as the  “Dickens of Detroit” because so many of his prolific good guy/bad guy sagas are based in his native Detroit. Both Raylan and his nemesis, Boyd Crowder brilliantly played by Walton Goggins, are based on a novella titled Fire in the Hole. Leonard remained very involved in the series until his death in 2013.

Justified-Raylan-and-BoydOlyphant’s Raylan, left, Goggin’s Boyd, right

If you’re unfamiliar with Leonard’s work, or remember only some very badly adapted films based on his work, check out Christopher Orr’s Atlantic article. He was another of Detroit’s treasures now part of its history.

elmore leonard Elmore Leonard

Full disclosure: Leonard was a good friend of my old boss. That however would auger against my admiration, IYKWIMAITYD.

And now, because we’re talking about horses and  cowboys, check out these little guys: they could grow up to be a either a winning Kentucky Derby jockey or a U.S. Marshall based in Kentucky.

mommas cowboys

Y’all can provide your favorite version of Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be a Cowboy. And have a great Sunday. We’ll still be on the road.
