Shut Up And Eat Your Beans and Corn

alice-featured-800x445

Well, it’s official: Barack Hussein Obama is back on the campaign trail, as evidenced by his speech yesterday at the University of Illinois. Opening line:

“It is good to be home. It’s good to see corn, beans. I was trying to explain to somebody as we were flying in, that's corn. That's beans, they were very impressed at my agricultural knowledge.”

It would indeed be good to have Obama back in Illinois where he belongs. But trust me, he doesn’t know beans about corn, or most any thing else that fuels the economy of the greatest nation on earth.

The most divisive president in U.S. history took to the microphone to chastise President Trump for being, well, the most divisive president in U.S. history. He accused him and his followers of pushing back against all things right and just that he, Barack Hussein Obama, put in place:

Progress doesn’t just move in a straight line. There’s a reason why progress hasn’t been easy and why throughout our history every two steps forward seems to sometimes produce one step back.

He’s got it backwards though, he was the step back, we are the 2 steps forward.

Each time we painstakingly pull ourselves closer to our founding ideals…

- if I may point out, the “founding ideals” that anyone committed to “fundamentally changing” is clearly not committed to… -

that all of us are created equal, endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, the ideals that say every child should have opportunity, and every man and woman in this country who’s willing to work hard should be able to find a job and support their family and pursue their small piece of the American dream. Ideals that say we have a collective responsibility to care for the sick and the infirm. And we have a responsibility to conserve the amazing bounty, the resources of this country and of this planet for future generations.

Assuming that he and his cohorts actually believe any of that, it’s clear that they don’t see any of the above as the personal responsibility of citizens but rather the obligation of the government (which they, the enlightened, will control and maintain). Forget free will. Forget freedom. Daddy will tell you what you must do…and then they lecture us on the evils of “patriarchy.”

After referencing himself over 100 times, taking credit for Trump’s burgeoning economy, accusing Trump supporters of practicing the politics of division and resentment, and of being paranoid

Security-Camera-paranoid-13936578-800-600Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean you’re paranoid enough

he reminded us that these are “dangerous times.” I wonder how that happened?

And then Barry, who said he was “intent on following a wise American tradition of ex-presidents gracefully exiting the political stage and making room for new voices and new ideas” explained that he changed his mind and will now be the leader of The Resistance. He will make the ultimate sacrifice, for you. He will be back front and center, telling you what you need to think about everything, for as long as needed and by any means necessary. So thanks for the warning.

I can go no further down the rabbit hole at this time. But clearly, with Obama back on the campaign trail telling the media which fake news story to pursue each day I’m going to need to consider reinstating “The Rabbit Hole Report” a former recurring feature of MOTUS A.D. premised on the conceit that Donald J. Trump actually lost the 2016 election to Hillary Rodham Clinton and thereby offering an alternate reality which provides temporary succor and comfort to #Democrats, #Progressives, #BernieBros, #RINOs and #NeverTrumpers.

Things just continue to get curiouser and curiouser.

Would the Real Slim Shady Please Stand Up. Everyone Else Shut Up

slim shady lyrics

Up till now nobody threw shade like President Donald J. Trump. But now, well…competition: our FLOTUS put her Slim Shady glasses on and tossed a bit of it herself at the NYT et al.

“Freedom of speech is an important pillar of our nation’s founding principles and a free press is important to our democracy. The press should be fair, unbiased and responsible.

Unidentified sources have become the majority of the voices people hear about in today’s news. People with no names are writing our nation’s history. Words are important, and accusations can lead to severe consequences. If a person is bold enough to accuse people of negative actions, they have a responsibility to publicly stand by their words and people have the right to be able to defend themselves.

To the writer of the oped — you are not protecting this country, you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions.”

Somebody had to throw a little shade at the shadow government now operating in a news room near you. And let’s face it, nobody can rock a pair of shades quite like Melania.

We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Tent

Day 2 of the Clown Show proceeded as anticipated,

democrat-clowns-kavanaughh/t Victory Girls

complete with a passel of Sideshow Bobs/Bobbies chastising Judge Kavanaugh for being “no truth handler”,

Bart: We want the truth!
Bob: You want the truth? You can't handle the truth. No truth-handler, you. Bah! I deride your truth-handling abilities.
Judge: Will you get to the point?
Bob: Only I could have executed such a masterpiece of electoral fraud. And I have the records to prove it! Here, just look at these, each one a work of Machiavellian art. – Gentlemen of Leisure

And then there were the other sideshows taking place in the other two rings: Bob Woodward’s new book about the White House falling apart and – coinky-dink! – the NYT’s blockbuster editorial penned by an anonymous WHITE HOUSE SABOTEUR!

And they say the Republicans need a bigger tent.

THE WORLD’S GRANDEST. LARGEST. BEST. AMUSEMENT INSTITUTION

What a treat: compliments of the Democratic (socialist) Party the entire circus! circus! came to town yesterday.

“The GREAT ETHNOLOGICAL CONGRESS and CURIOUS LED ANIMALS AS SEEN IN THE SPACIOUS and COLOSSAL MENAGERIE TENT.”

CIRCUS-LEAD

In a pre-planned coordinated effort organized by the Rent-a-Mob arm of the Democratic Socialists the first day of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing was disrupted 63 times, delayed for an hour and a quarter and resulted in 70 arrests. No longer satisfied with simple bread and circuses the mob is now demanding red meat.

…But I’m Happy It’s Over For My Enemies Too

I would be in trouble if I was still of school age as I overslept this morning. No particular reason, wasn’t up particularly late, didn’t sleep any worse than usual, just protesting the end of summer I guess. Apparently I’m still at step one of grieving the end of summer: denial.

new-understanding-the-stages-of-grief-1new-understanding-the-stages-of-grief-1

I will eventually move on through the other 4 stages, sometime around Thanksgiving, but for now I will remain in denial. That should be easy as it’s supposed to hit the mid-90’s today with the heat index topping 100. Unfortunately it’s also the first day of school around here which will present a dilemma for the Detroit schools as they regularly dismiss for such oppressive heat in the Spring. They’re scheduled for just a half day so maybe they can tough it out. If the heat wave continues, as it’s supposed to, they can hold half day sessions all week and use it as a teaching opportunity for the most important subject in the curriculum: Global Warming.

Any whoo, don’t forget to put your white clothes and accessories away as our betters have determined that we’re not allowed to wear them again until next Memorial Day.

PeanutsLaborDay-800x445

So let’s not make waves, put those white clam diggers on ice for now. You don’t want to be accused of being a white supremacist. Otherwise, get out there today and deny, deny, deny! The thermometer is working in your favor. Besides, it might be fun to act like Democrat for awhile.

Labor Day: Thank You President Trump!

labor-day

Labor Day, a creation of the labor movement, is a public holiday held on the first Monday in September. It is a national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Of course you need jobs in order for workers to contribute to the “strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country” so you might think everyone would be cheering President Trump on today for all the jobs his administration has created.

But they’re not. So I’ll take this opportunity to present a brief public service announcement. It’s actually a warning about the path the country’s New Democrat Socialists (NDS) would take us down. Not only does their socialist paradise with “free” healthcare, college, etc. require a strong, centralized government controlling the redistribution of wealth, it also requires a completely indoctrinated population. Accordingly the NDS has implemented a classic propaganda program through education and cultural institutions. Public schools and universities begin indoctrinating your children with socialist principles and anti-Western sentiment in pre-school and don’t stop until they eventually leave school between the ages of 23-30. During that time they are also bombarded 24-7 with the same message via movies, TV and social media platforms.

So perhaps on this Labor Day you could take the opportunity to share with the them just a little peak at what a workers’ paradise looks like in late-stage socialism.  From Life Without Water: Sweaty, Smelly, and Furious in Caracas.

In Caracas, we go without reliable access to an extensive list of basic life essentials, from toilet paper to toothpaste. But if you ask me, dry taps are by far the most unpleasant of the epic shortages.

Dishes are brushed off and reused, and clothing is not something regularly laundered, though, personally, I draw the line at multiple wearings of underwear or socks. You ask friends whether it’s okay to flush. You often do not. We’re sweaty and, yes, smelly, especially in the rainy season when the humidity can top 80 percent. We’re at risk, too, because water stagnating in the vessels that people stash around their homes attracts mosquitoes; malaria rates have soared.

The poorest, as usual, have it the worst, though no one is spared. Hospitals and schools, posh neighborhoods and slums, they all go without water—at times for weeks on end—making this man-made drought arguably the most equalizing disaster the socialist government has ever managed to engineer.

So while the anti-Trump forces on both sides of the aisle continue to argue amongst themselves over whether America has always been great or never been great - the rest of us will just go about our business knowing that America has always been exceptional. And knowing that in order to continue to be so we need to beat the NDS at every turn: the legislature, the public opinion arena and the education system. Because, as someone once told us:

“The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.”Very Stable Genius President Donald Trump, September 18, 2017.

“The Sun Is the Same In a Relative Way But You're Older”

Enough with the politicizing at the funeralizing. It’s worse than 3 days of rain (which it’s going to do in these parts) on a holiday weekend. I know there’s more scheduled for today but I’m going to take a pass. Instead I’ll be celebrating a musicality Sunday, with a slight nod towards the neon gods that have and will be laid to rest this past week.

My first selection, something I could use a bit more of:

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence

Next, a musical quiz to honor the Queen of Soul’s hometown record label: it was originally conceived to accompany the Motown CD Dewey put together for Creeper’s FFF in Le Claire Iowa 2 years ago (?!) already. And now, thanks to Aretha’s passing, it’s relevant again so better late than never. Here’s the question:

Which recording artist/s listed on Dewey From Detroit’s Motown Mix, FFF2016 Collector’s Edition never, evah, record on the Motown label?

There are a couple of Democratic rules in play in order to keep things on the up and up:

  • No cheating - no looking up the answers on the Intertubes
  • You may phone a friend
  • You can cheat if you must

And finally, just for fun: I love this YouTube clip from Hip Hop fan “Joey Reacts” as he listens to Pink Floyd’s Time for, well, the first time: “It feels so good to hear this music, I don’t know why!” Allow me to venture a guess: because it’s music, not misogynist rapping.

Because the vast repertoire of modern music is so awful there seems to be a new sub-industry of videos consisting of nothing more than millennials’ reactions to listening to classics for the first time (Pink Floyd appears to be a favorite, for obvious reasons). I would think looking for a job would be a better use of their time, but that’s just me.

Ah well, enjoy what time you’ve got any way you wish.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say
