Requiem for a Flag. And History

Yeah, that’s right: all this for a damn flag. 

In the mistaken belief that denying history is the same as making it go away, the Confederate Flag was laid to rest yesterday by a coalition of States’ Rights deniers and 21st Century Orwellians.

In a breath-taking act of self-censorship the South Carolina Assembly voted to refrain from exercising their freedom of expression and banished the flag from the capital. Forgetting, or ignoring, the actual history of the Civil War in favor of a version that makes it all about slavery is all very au courant. And it’s a cute trick: by denying history you have the power to change it. If it works for Iran, surely it can work for us:

So put your Confederate flag away and get your dog whistle out, you’re gonna’ be needing it.

One of these things is not like the other things…

Is it:

1. One is wearing a hoodie
2. One is wearing a cap and gown
3. One is not wearing a seatbelt
4. One is walking while white
5. None of the above

The correct answer is 5, none of the above because:

The real answer to our quiz is that, with the exception of Kate, Big Guy personally called to console family members of Trayvon, Michael and Freddie; and he sent representatives to their funerals.

I would also note that Barry has also not publicly condemned “San Francisco” Sanchez for “acting stupidly” and murdering Kate while walking white with her Dad. I’m not saying this is due to the fact that Kate was inconveniently murdered by an illegal alien rather than a cop - or because she was white. Butt it wasn’t due to time constraints either because Barry did find time to call the Women’s Soccer Team to congratulate them on their World Cup win. And they’re pretty white too.

Fresh Crap, Every Day.

If you’re one of those people who believes there’s no such thing as a coincidence, you’re my kind of cynic. And yesterday was your kind of day: The Wall Street Journal, United Airlines, New York Stock Exchange…all with “computer glitches?” I think not.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that America’s spelling has deteriorated since we adopted Common Core standards? Pleaze diskuss amongst yerselves.

Let’s see if I’ve got the facts straight: illegal immigrant (no person is ‘illegal’”) - a repeat felon previously deported to Mexico 5 times (we don’t need no stinkin’ wall!) who was released despite a detainer request from ICE because San Francisco is a sanctuary city (“illegals” have rights too!) - steals gun from FBI agent’s car (if only we had better gun control laws!) and kills young woman in cold blood.

And Hillary is still demanding citizenship for the 11 to 20 million illegals already in-country (plus the millions of others who will arrive in time to vote for her)? Well that makes sense, because Kathryn Steinle is already dead so what difference, at this point, does it make?

What difference does any of this make?

And let’s not forget who the victim is here: Hillary, falling prey to that politically motivated vast right conspiracy…again!

#BetterIdeas-R-Us

Last August Big Guy admitted we didn’t have a plan to defeat ISIS/L. Then in February we rolled out the Harf plan of “Jobs for Jihadis” to defeat ISIS. Apparently that didn’t work out so Big Guy was forced to admit last mont that  “we don't have a complete strategy yet.”

Since then Barry determined that we don’t actually need a strategy after all since “ideologies are not defeated with guns, they are defeated by better ideas.” So now we’re working on better ideas. Here’s the best of our better ideas so far:

1. Gay marriage, aka #LoveWins:

2. Capitalism: If we can’t kill them with guns we will retreat to our $12 million getaway on Martha’s Vineyard for the month of August and noodle up some better ideas.

 

Hey, just looking at that relaxing estate gives me an idea: Immigration Reform! How about we round up all our uninvited dreamers and schemers and ship them to the Middle East and let them take over their “culture” for a change?

A Win-Win if you ask me. Now all we need is a #Hashtag!

Time To Greece That Squeaky Wheel?

Remember this?

Well congratulations! You are now! Except for one thing: after a few non-lethal union concessions, Detroit got the State to bail them and their pensions out. Greece just said “no” to the EU’s demand for concessions, so…this should be fun.

Hard to believe isn’t it? The country that founded democracy has discovered how to destroy it. Well actually, Alexis de Tocqueville identified that mechanism a couple of centuries ago:

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.”

And we’ve been implementing it incrementally ever since:

Weiners on Parade

Unfortunately it rained in D.C. yesterday, forcing a cancellation of our annual Big White 4th of July party. Little Mo however waited for the clouds to part before throwing his annual Barbeque for all his little friends (video footage compliments of Blonde Gator):

 

And for those of you who’ve all butt given up hope: proof that neither Clinton or Bush are shoo-ins. Everyone assumed 8-time winner Joey Chestnut would clinch his 9th straight title in the Nathan’s annual hot dog eating contest too. Butt new-comer Matt “Megatoad” Stonie stunned the competitive eating world yesterday by downing two more wieners than Joey.

And allow me to apologize straight-away to anyone likely to be offended by what they may consider my inappropriate use of “Clinton” and “wieners” in the same paragraph. And speaking of Weiners, don’t even get me started on Anthony!

Anthony Weiner, always up for a good holiday parade.
