News You Can’t Use: Sandwich Shaming

Number two reason for not ordering a Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato with Cheese:

Robert Wilson Barnes couldn't believe when he thought the letters on his wife's bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with cheese actually read 'b***h'Sandwich Shaming

Number one reason: Cheese on a BLT? That’s just wrong.

I’m only surprised that it ran in the Daily Mail instead of the New York Times – the newspaper of record that specializes in abused women stories.

NOTE: I’m pretty sure this is fake news based on a fake Facebook story but then that could be said of approximately 75% of all stories run in all newspapers.

A Musical Interlude

The end-of-summer winds make people restless. - Sebastian Faulks

Your Friday musical interlude:

The summer wind came blowin' in from across the sea
It lingered there, to touch your hair and walk with me
All summer long we sang a song and then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights they went flyin' by
The world was new beneath a blue umbrella sky
Then softer than a piper man, one day it called to you
I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind

The autumn wind, and the winter winds they have come and gone
And still the days, those lonely days, they go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies through nights that never end
My fickle friend, the summer wind
The summer wind
Warm summer wind
The summer wind

Viva La Resistance!!!

The Democrat’s have redefined the responsibilities of the three branches of government:  Impugn. Investigate. Impeach. Image result for investigate They’ve also adopted them as the basis for their 2020 platform. Nothing new there.

Remember when the Republicans used to be considered the obstructionists?

Striking a Pose

Donald Trump’s economy is booming. So the UAW decided to call a nationwide strike against GM.

Randolph Walker cheers on motorist as they blow their horns in support of the strike at GM's Powertrain Plant in Warren in 2007.

They’re demanding the same things they’ve been demanding for as long as I can remember: higher wages, better pension, better job security, better healthcare (what’s wrong with Obamacare?!), and better profit sharing.

The Dems will all be onboard, since they always side with the ‘little guy.’ In this case the little guys who build cars for a living - the same cars the Dems’ Green New Deal wants you not to buy, not to  drive and when elected they plan to outlaw, along with planes and cows.

So giddy up, cowboys.

You’re gonna need a lot more horsepower.

My Pocket Demon

I’m convinced we all have a little pocket dragon.

Not a demon exactly, more like a wizard who’s sometimes quiet and subdued but always there watching, smoldering – capable of igniting at any provocation. Mine’s name is Tempus Fugit and lately he’s been quite active. I feel him breathing down my neck even when at rest.

As a temporary appeasement Raj and I are going an a vacation “up north” this week so posts will be short. But when we return he will require some form of ongoing accommodation so expect something along the lines of more “open threads” and fewer post-posts.

No need to panic; just pay a little closer attention to your pocket dragon, he may be your wiser self.

A Sunday Reflection

“Time and reflection change the sight little by little 'till we come to understand.” - Paul Cezanne

Today feels like the end of summer.

And I feel the need for a little reflection.
