It’s Like Talking To A Cow’s Butt

Today is World Ivermectin Day. Here’s Australia’s Honorable MP Craig Kelly explaining to an essentially empty chamber the efficacy of Ivermectin (video starts at the 9 minute mark, but will likely not be available for long).

Spoiler Alert: Ivermectin works so why can’t we get it readily from our doctor as a prophylactic and/or treatment for Covid?

Might as well be putting the question to a cow’s butt.

But(t) happy Caturday-Ivermectin Day anyway.

Joebberish™ - We Need a Vaccine For That

Joebberish™ at it’s best:

The best part is watching people defend Joey’s performance art as “just a stutter,”  “hardly an impressive oratory, but it is not serious cognitive impairment either,” “I think the odd momentary show of forgetfulness of context is ordinary” (it is, in assisted living facilities). Although this was my personal favorite comments  “He’s 10x sharper than Trump and on top of a ton more policy issues.”

Delusion is strong in the Camp of the Trunalimunumaprzure. Nice to see a few continue to de-camp.

Living in the real world is dangerous and scary, but not as dangerous and scary as staying in Joebberville.

However FLOTUS Friday must continue so here is Dr. Jilly deplaning, properly muzzled, in Toyko for the games.

jill55What a set of gams on our FLOTUS! Note: Band-Aid gone, boo-boo remains.

But look, if you’re going to wear red, you should really be on Red Team.

It just seems more natural that way.

Now get out there people, and try not to stutter. You wouldn’t want people to think you had Trunalimunumaprzure. Although I understand they’re working on a vaccine for that.

Ashli Babbitt Didn’t Kill Herself

Happening in Congress this week:

  • Pelosi puts the finishing touches on her January 6th “insurrection” kangaroo court.
  • Biden’s nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, David “Chippy” Chipman, works his way through Congress, as well as the cable news and comedy channels (often the same). Most recently he made his case for the appointment by mocking gun owners, comparing them to “Tiger King” and zombie doomsday preppers.

Chippy sounds as lucid and discreet as the lunatic who nominated him, they should make a great team. Not that it’s likely Chippy will make it through the Senate confirmation process, but it sure does highlight how prescient our founding fathers were in establishing the Second Amendment.

And in case there’s any doubt, allow me to remind you of the only pertinent fact regarding the January 6th demonstration at the capital:

ashli babbitt didn't kill herself somebody else did that for her

And I think we all know who that “somebody” was.

I’m Beginning To Like This New Matt Taibbi

Ha ha ha! Somebody on the left just noticed that NPR is left-biased as well as race and sex obsessed.

NPR's Brilliant Self-Own - National Public Radio complains about a media figure who tells people "what their opinions should be" and uses political "buzzwords"

taibbi

Man, I can’t help myself, I’m actually beginning to like this new Matt Taibbi:

Yesterday’s NPR article, Outrage As A Business Model: How Ben Shapiro Is Using Facebook To Build An Empire,” is among the more unintentionally funny efforts at media criticism in recent times.

The piece is about Ben Shapiro, but one doesn’t have to have ever followed Shapiro, or even once read the Daily Wire, to get the joke. The essence of NPR’s complaint is that a conservative media figure not only “has more followers than The Washington Post” but outperforms mainstream outlets in the digital arena, a fact that, “experts worry,” may be “furthering polarization” in America. NPR refers to polarizing media as if they’re making an anthropological discovery of a new and alien phenomenon.

After first explaining what NPR’s complaint isn’t about (peddling misinformation, Trumpism or opinion disguised as news) he gets to the heart of the matter:

The main complaint, instead, is that:

By only covering specific stories that bolster the conservative agenda (such as… polarizing ones about race and sexuality issues)… readers still come away from The Daily Wire's content with the impression that Republican politicians can do little wrong and cancel culture is among the nation's greatest threats.

NPR has not run a piece critical of Democrats since Christ was a boy. Moreover, much like the New York Times editorial page (but somehow worse), the public news leader’s monomaniacal focus on “race and sexuality issues” has become an industry in-joke. For at least a year especially, listening to NPR has been like being pinned in wrestling beyond the three-count. Everything is about race or gender, and you can’t make it stop.

I repeat, ha ha ha!  I suppose next NPR will be telling us that we have to rename gypsy moths

due to racial slurs or something. Oh wait…I’m too late

Oh well, as some wag noted, Car Talk was good…20 years ago.

And now, in recognition of Chicken Day, I offer up this fluffy ball of feathers, please feel free to enjoy it before its image and breed are banned due to whiteness and privilege by association.

Our prayers continue today for Succotash, who checked in with us yesterday and is now home with palliative care, and pbird, who’s still in hospital.

Sunrise, Sunset

sunset icelandSunrise, Sunset

I will make this a very short one, requesting prayers from all those so inclined for both Succotash and our pbird this morning. Both are in the hospital. Succotash remains in end-of-life palliative care and we pray for her ease of passing. Pbird who is terribly ill, likely with an infection from a leg wound from hell that refuses to heal. We pray for effective treatment and healing so she can go home and continue her recovery.

It’s been a tough year. But hang in there, we’re smarter than the other side (h/t Country Girl);

commitment to stupidity

I just hope that’s enough to ensure victory in this era of complete corruption.

The Minister Of Misinformation (MOM) Means No More Mean Tweets

Well good, we won’t have to think for ourselves anymore. Joey and the gang will do that for us.

minister of misinformation jenp

And as every middle school student knows, the Constitution – the document of negative liberties (h/t: BHO) – does not give you the right to think for yourself. So yay! – now we can rely on the Ministry of Misinformation (MOM) to tell us who and what to believe. MOM will be working with a small cadre of unelected private officials who run all the big powerful tech platforms to decide who and what is deemed acceptable truthiness. And don’t worry, it will all be transparent to you - as they will operate in secret, without any mechanism for accountability. That way you won’t be able to manipulate their decisions with alternate facts.

From now on smarter people than you will be deciding what information you can have access to, which is too subjective to fall in the wrong hands. First we deal with the “misinformation” surrounding vaccines, next we tackle severe weather, or other dangerous subjects – like math.  From Oregon to Ontario people are struggling to make it non-racist:

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) recently encouraged teachers to register for training that encourages “ethnomathematics” and argues, among other things, that White supremacy manifests itself in the focus on finding the right answer.

Math…has been “used to normalize racism and marginalization of non-Eurocentric mathematical knowledges,” and explains that taking a “decolonial” and “anti-racist approach” to teaching math will outline its “historical roots and social constructions” to students.

“The Ontario Grade 9 mathematics curriculum emphasizes the need to recognize and challenge systems of power and privilege, both inside and outside the classroom, in order to eliminate systemic barriers and to serve students belonging to groups that have been historically disadvantaged and underserved in mathematics education.”

Finally, they will be getting help from the Ministry of Misinformation, which will simply prevent the objective answer part from being taught/spread via misinformation channels. Expect more bridges and buildings to fall down, but at least there will be no more racist math out there.

Improving The Planet With Economics

garden path

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

In the event all that fails to improve the lot of human life on earth perhaps you might wish to resort to economics instead. For example, consider the economics of throwing Marxists out of helicopters:

Results are guaranteed. And economics have never been so much fun.
