Keep On Counting

It is with a very heavy heart I report we lost another of our cherished WWII vets yesterday, this one very special to us: Raj’s Dad. Just one week shy of his 96th birthday he concluded his journey on this earth and moved on up to a much better neighborhood to join his wife who has been waiting for him for 7 long years.

May we all live as long a life with as much purpose, joy and cheer as he did.

As we will be flying home today to be with family and help with arrangements I leave it in your capable hands to continue counting the ways we are WINNING with our new President.

The Left is gobsmacked over President Trump; not only is he doing what he said he would, he’s doing it at  warp speed. “Turbo Trump” as Carlyle dubbed him.

That’s incomprehensible to pols who are accustomed to spend their entire careers mired in the wonky debate of their ambitious intentions with no concern at all about ever making them work. That niggling detail is left to the bureaucrats.

And it’s the Path to Serfdom

No wonder their heads are spinning in Trump’s wake:  they’ve never worked with someone who demands plans that require demonstrable results.

But again, good intentions – the only implementation plan of the Left - capture headlines. In fact good intentions are such an intrinsic aspect of Leftist policy that they often forget that there is anything more:

In the age of Good Intentions and Virtue Signaling hashtags can easily replace the hard of work of action.  But if hashtags worked we’d have gotten those 200 Nigerian school girls captured by Boko Haram back by now.

And if hashtag campaigns worked… 

We wouldn’t have had to go to all the trouble of electing President Trump now, would we?

In closing I have this message for all the Lefties out there, still marching, still protesting, still refusing to believe Donald Trump won:

"Big Day Planned on NATIONAL SECURITY”

History will reflect that 2017 was the year the West came to it’s senses. That’s right, it’s Trump Day in America…

and as America goes, so goes the world.

So keep those Executive Orders coming, we’re on a Mission From God.

And the Lord works in mysterious ways:

His successor will do clean up with a Twitter account and oh… he also has a pen. A whole collection of them apparently.

Trump, who tweeted that a "big day" was planned on national security on Wednesday, is expected to ban for several months the entry of refugees into the United States, except for religious minorities escaping persecution, until more aggressive vetting is in place.

Another order will block visas being issued to anyone from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, said the aides and experts, who asked not to be identified.

In his tweet late on Tuesday, Trump said: "Big day planned on NATIONAL SECURITY tomorrow. Among many other things, we will build the wall!" – Reuters

Love Trumps Hate: There’s a Meme For That

 The Instapundit, as he has after the past 3 elections, launched a new meme today for the Trump era:

“They told me if Trump were elected, Washington would be full of hate-filled ignoramuses. And they were right!”

His first entry in the category is a story about how protestors at Saturday’s Women’s March actually booed Trump hotel staffers who were trying to help a woman (marcher) who had a heart attack:

Hotel staffers who crossed protest barricades to treat a heart-attack victim outside the Trump International Hotel in Washington this weekend were treated to jeers and anti-Trump slogans by protesters.

Around 4 p.m. Saturday, a woman protester suffered a heart attack on the street outside the Trump hotel. The medical emergency sent a hotel staffer sprinting outside with an automated external defibrillator.

Protesters held back by crowd control barricades loudly booed the staffer before the man passed the defibrillator to law enforcement.

No word on whether the woman victim had a vagina or not  - not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Anyway, I would just like to predict that Glenn Reynolds new meme will prove to be the most repeated of all time, rivaling even Jon Gabriel’s all-time gem:

And don’t forget, the DNC now thinks their job is to “shut down white people” – a situation that quite rightly supports both memes.

New President, New Definitions: Alt-Right Now Means “Left of Center”

The first day of the first week of the first year of the Trump presidency: welcome.

Allow me to prepare you for what lies ahead. We will continue to be labeled racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe despite the terms losing much of their sting due to constant mis/overuse. The new twist: a one word replacement that will imply all of the above plus much, much more – we will henceforth be known to the left as…NATIONALISTS! Which of course means “fascist” – just like Hitler!

A very useful, economic term; all the slur, half the effort.

No longer will “nationalist” be defined as “a person who advocates political independence for a country,” it now means a person of the Right who is anti-immigrant, racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic and… fascist!

Welcome to your new nomenclature, according to the Left we are all alt-right (which has been redefined to mean “left of center”) which has been redefined to mean “fascist.” And we all know that fighting fascism is good.

Later today President Trump will be signing an Executive Order withdrawing the U.S. from the TPP: Nationalist!

I Feel Your Pain; Now Go Home and Shut Up

I’ll say this: it was yuge.

Because if there is one thing that Progressives know how to do it’s how to “Organize for Action” and enlist celebrities to carry the message.

Yesterday’s protest march was brought to you by the same people who brought us the world-wide Occupy Wall Street whiners (hint: George Soros). The equally whiny “Women’s March” - which was actually the “Liberal Women’s anti-Trump March” “spontaneously” broke out in locations all around the globe.

Having exploited their black-victim contingency group nearly to death for the last 8 years Progressives have now moved on to exploiting the women-victim class, who seem to be enjoying it almost as much. All the usual potty-mouthed celebrities were hauled in to lead the cheers:

And I note that now they have Trump to kick around, the anti-fur protests are passé:

Even Park City, hosting celebrities this week for the annual Global Warming/Anti-Fracking/Anti-America Sundance Film Festival took time out to march against Trump.

The crowd here was an enthusiastic but much smaller and shorter protest because with all this inconvenient global warming it was COLD! And SNOWY! Even so, the enormity of the situation was very emotional for some of our visiting celebs, thinking about Trump in their White House for the next 4 years.

As the new President said: Why didn’t you vote? Anyway, as I believe I’ve mentioned before, I feel your pain. Now go home and shut up; it’s the Democrat way.
