So, the crazies won. My soul aches mightily. Although I have contemplated the possibility of this outcome I didn’t allow myself to actually believe it would happen until this morning. There are simply no words. It will take awhile to completely process this takeover of America by room temperature progressive candidates along with every other sort of idiot, fakir, radical and subversive.
The superficial explanations – unpopular war, high gas prices, unaffordable groceries, Trump fatigue etc. – don’t adequately explain last night’s results. It’s about immigration, both illegal and Blue state, instant gratification, trendy collectivism and 50 years of unfettered undermining of our education system. Unfortunately reelecting the same people who put American on this trajectory in the first place is not the answer.
I trust that we will regroup as a country to once again take America back. And if we don’t, may God have mercy on our souls. In the mean time the Presidential veto will prevent the craziest of progressive ideas from marching forward for the next 2 years. I pray we figure out how to deal with this mess by then.
