Let’s Not Make This Purely Political Gambit All About Politics

Citing an “informed source,” Jake Tapper tweeted that “MLB officials made the decision (to move the All Star Game to Denver) because if they didn’t then the decision would be left to individual players, individual All-Stars, some of whom no doubt would have individually boycotted the game themselves.”

In short: There was no way to avoid this becoming political.

Tapper’s “informed source?”

NOTE: Loudmouth Stacy will deny this and CNN will report accordingly

Tapper explained. "So MLB did what they thought was taking one for the team, as it were, trying to protect the individual players and to operate as a cohesive whole, the source tells CNN. Whatever you think of the decision, that was part of the calculation."

Jake, it seems, took one for the team as well.

Maybe we should stop asking sports figures what they think about politics and just let them play the game.

shut up and play

And maybe so-called “news” outlets should just stop advocating for Democrats and their policies and report objectively instead of fomenting discontent and riots.

Or as Derek Hunter put it:

"If only someone in media had told the truth about the law, actually informed the public rather than doing their best to help Democrats by simply spitting out 'Jim Crow 2.0!' then maybe this wouldn't have happened. Maybe someone working for a company headquartered in Atlanta ..."

But no, they have redefined their role thusly:

And with such an awesome responsibility don’t even think about asking them why they don’t hold themselves to the same standards as they do other corporations they shake down for the Dems. Surely you wouldn’t expect THEM to relocate their headquarters outside of Atlanta.

Why good heavens, that would just make it political!
