Did you feel it last night? The cosmic “opposition”?
“Every two years, Mars reaches a point in its orbit called "opposition," when the planet lies directly opposite the sun in Earth's sky.”
This amazing cosmic event, called “Opposition,” happens just once every 2 years. It produces a spectacular view of a bright orange Mars rising near sunset which remains visible all night long.
And apparently it also triggers another fleeting cosmic lunar event: the Republicans align in actual “Opposition” to Democrats. Nobody is sure why, butt scientists speculate it has something to do with shifting gravity, cosmic radiation or upcoming Congressional elections. Whatever the cause, GOP leaders were spotted around the Capital yesterday practicing stern facial expressions, sans tears.
Speaker Boehner warned Big Guy that implementing immigration reform would be “almost impossible” if he continues to deploy his pen to sign executive orders bypassing Congress:
NO IMMIGRATION REFORM!!!!
What’s gotten into you!?!
And the Ways and Means Committee is dipping its own pen in the inkwell, preparing harsh memos to Ricky’s Department of Justice, strongly urging him to pursue criminal charges against former IRS employee and Loyal Obot, Lois Lerner. (Ha!, to quote Chris Matthews.)
Not to be cheated out of his moment of Opposition, the House Oversight Committee, Chairman Darrell Issa is preparing to hold a contempt vote against the former IRS Exempt Organizations Division head on Thursday. It will be a proforma gesture, as it seems pretty obvious that Lois, along with the rest of Team Obama, has nothing butt contempt for Congress.

And here, you see Eric Holder’s angry reaction when reminded that he’s been in criminal contempt of the House for over 2 years. Clearly he finds this Republican opposition both unexpected and unacceptable:
