For anyone still at a loss to explain The Donald’s popularity, here is today’s object lesson: People don’t like having their country taken over by outsiders. Especially outsiders who come to rape and plunder (with apologies to those of Viking stock who practically invented raping and plundering, butt haven’t engaged in that sort of behavior for thousands of years now).
Even Swedes seem to have their limits: (highlights added)

The Sweden Democrats, with roots in the country's most radical extreme right, entered parliament in 2010 with the ambition of curbing Sweden's immigration and refugee policy.
The Sweden Democrat party has been gradually rising in popularity since it scored 12.9 percent in the country’s last general election in September 2014.
But a survey by pollsters YouGov published in Sweden’s Metro newspaper on Thursday suggested that 25.2 percent of those questioned would now vote for the nationalists, who are calling for dramatic cuts in immigration to Sweden.
"There is a significant amount of dissatisfaction in general with the government, and not least against its immigration and integration policies, and the begging issue. Many don't see the Moderates as an alternative on these issues so they turn to us instead," Sweden Democrats party secretary Richard Jomshof told news agency TT in a comment on the strong poll showing.
Political scientists were split on how to interpret the YouGov poll which was carried out last week, following both a high profile campaign by the Sweden Democrats to ban begging on Stockholm’s subway,
and a double stabbing outside an Ikea store [ed. beheading], for which two Eritrean** asylum seekers [ed. North African radical] were arrested, with one admitting to the crime..

So I guess we’ve finally found the limits of Swedish socialist tolerance: Muslims beheading a mother and child in a a busy Ikea store [ed. WARNING: graphic]. That act in itself may not have sufficed, butt the official reaction – beefing up security in the immigrant “communities” in order to prevent retaliation by “dark forces,” combined with Ikea’s response - which was to remove knives from their shelves - seems to have pushed the remaining rational Swedes over the brink.
So in summary: don’t underestimate the outrage of people born with Viking blood when faced with an existential threat. They will turn to a leader willing to fight, even if he doesn’t look exactly like a Viking.
Or, in our case, a leader who doesn’t look, or sound, like a standard Washingtonian.
