Separated At Birth Disorder

I know there are more important things going on, but I was fascinated with this photo of Christine, nee David, Hallquist campaigning for governor of Vermont.

I found it perplexing on several levels. First, call me old fashioned, but I’m still wondering why a 60 year old man with a family would decide it would be in his best interest to “transition” to the opposite sex. Unless you’ve ever been married to a Kardashian, in which case I think the answer is obvious. But “Dave” never was.

In fact he has a wife, 3 children and 2 grandchildren and was CEO of a small northern Vermont electricity company for the last 12 years. Which brings me to my next issue: why would a man who actually knows how energy is generated and distributed, and the cost of doing so, run on a platform requiring Vermont to convert 90% of it’s energy supply to a renewable energy source? Unless he considers nuclear generation renewable, which I’m betting he doesn’t, that’s going to cost Vermont residents a LOT of money.

But what really troubled me about the picture of Dave was how much it reminded me of somebody I’m fairly certain he’s not even related to.

I apologize, sometimes my brain just goes off and I’m required to follow.

By way of apology I hope you all enjoy this first Sunday of autumn…
