#Fightback

If half the country weren't in thrall to an epidemic far worse than the Chinese Virus – I’m talking about TDS of course – the outrage meter against the type of bias exhibited by media giants such as Twitter/Facebook/Google would be constantly fluctuating in the red zone. Regardless of which team you played for.

Curses! Foiled Again!: My Rage-O-Meter is Pegged

But like their progressive political partners Big Tech giants are committed to promoting their ideology and they are use to getting their way – by any means necessary.

Thus we have the likes of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey lying to the Senate about his company lifting the ban on the NY Post, (they did so briefly then re-imposed it) and otherwise dripping with disdain for the Senators who dared question him.

(He) explained with an eerie calm that The Post can regain access to its Twitter account anytime it wants — once it deletes a tweet with an image his company has decided violates its standards.

As the Post pointed out:

Dorsey’s words echo the assurances offered writers in authoritarian states that they will be allowed to publish their other scribblings . . . just so long as they burn the manuscripts the censors find offensive in front of the censors.

Not a standard of freedom of speech normally hailed by the Fourth Estate but in in the age of We Hate Trump and Will Do Anything To Get Rid of Him, well, as I said, by any means necessary.

Anarchists Respond to Trump's Inauguration, by Any Means Necessary - The New York Times

And this new standard likewise applies to the selective application of rules: Carrboro town officials refuse to remove Black Lives Matter flags from Early Voting site.

As you can see, Black Lives Matter flags adorn the only early voting site in Carrboro, a town that describes itself as a “progressive haven” and a “remarkable example of a diverse, exciting, town.” As long as that diversity doesn’t entail any actual diversity of thought.

“After consulting with the town attorney, the Mayor and Town Council have chosen to leave the flags in place,” Carrboro officials said in their statement.

Because, as Glenn Reynolds points out, “Lefties see their slogans as nonpartisan symbols of things that are just objectively good. It’s only the right’s slogans that are divisive symbols of hate.”

We will take our slogans to the polls in the form of votes.

If Donald Trump Had a Dog…

It’s equal time for doggies day.

What do you suppose makes this little Jack Russell Terrier pup so appealing?

dog, cute, and puppy image

Is it the stocky little body? The swagger? The authoritative stance? The self-assurance that his presence just exudes?

Is it the set of those almond-shaped eyes? Or perhaps his unusual coloration: the white spot on his nose, the black eye, the black smudge above that determined little mouth?

Or wait, maybe it’s the tail, held high and proud? You can tell this little guy knows where he’s going and means to get there.  Yes, I think it’s definitely the FU tail.

Alpha-dog, for sure; who wouldn’t want to be in his pack?

If Donald Trump had a dog it would definitely be this little guy.

See The U.S.A. in your Chevrolet

It’s worth noting that even in the Jetson’s future world of flying cars a driver was still required.

Related image

That’s because the Jetsons lived in a world where technology may have advanced but the fundamental elements of human nature remained the same. Which is to say most humans like to be in control. Driving gives us that sense, we can’t control the other idiots on the road but we can control how we maneuver around their stupidity. And that may be why we may actually be closer to the flying car

than the driverless car.

Related image Warning: the images in your rearview mirror are likely not your biggest concern

This despite Elon Musk’s dream car doing its best to get you to leave the driving to Tesla. Which strikes me as even more insane than turning control of your house over to Alexa. While I sort of get why you’d like a computerized assistant to restock the toilet paper and coffee supply I cannot in a thousand years imagine why you’d turn your car controls over to a computer whose guts were built in China and will be, like your laptop, prone to failure at the most inopportune moment…

leaving you completely vulnerable.

Autopilot was active when a Tesla crashed into a truck, killing driver.

The National Transportation Safety Board said a 2018 Tesla Model 3, driven by 50-year-old Jeremy Banner, was in autopilot mode when it collided with a semi truck.

NTSB investigators said Banner turned on the autopilot feature about 10 seconds before the crash, and the autopilot did not execute any evasive maneuvers to avoid the collision.

The Tesla was traveling 68 miles per hour at the time of the crash, according to the NTSB.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the tractor trailer pulled into the path of the Tesla, and the Tesla's roof was sheared off as it passed underneath the semi. Banner died at the scene.

But then, I’ve written about this before: Driverless Cars: The Pinnacle of Soul-Sucking Anti-American Wussification

Could there be anything less American than driverless cars?  I suppose sexbots might quality but certainly driverless cars are right up there.

289YWhy would you NOT want to drive this?

Seriously, driverless cars have no place in the land that practically invented the open road, hit-the-road-Jack-never-come-back motif.

Read the whole thing. It’s still fun. And that’s what cars once were: fun, fun, fun. Now you can take a 3 day cross country road trip and count on one hand the number of cars that are any color other than black, white, sliver or gray. Sad I tell you, just sad.

A Week in the Newsroom

What a strange news week.

Obama's chickens coming home to roost   Good night Chet. Goodnight David.

1. The Democrats in the House voted against a resolution to excluding illegal aliens from voting to U.S. elections

2.  The Democrats in the House voted as a block to lower the voting age for all federal elections from 18 to 16

3. The Democrats in the House refused to vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in general and Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism in particular. Choosing instead to condemn all bigotry.

4. Jussie Smollett was indicted on 16 felony charges

5. Major blackout (trigger!) in the socialist paradise of Venezuela

Journalists report via cellphones – wait till they run out of juice!

6. Anti-Semite and hater Ilhan Omar tries to BLAME the reporter who quoted her saying Obama got 'away with murder' on drone strikes for 'distorting' her words, then releases audio of her interview that proves the journalist was right

7. Bruce Ohr reveals that he collaborated with British spy and Fusion GPS contractor Christopher Steele while he was writing the Steele Dossier

8. High School girls in Arizona were kicked off campus for wearing ‘Make America Great Again’ attire on Spirit Day. When did it become offensive in America to support our President?

All of the above was either ignored entirely or mentioned in passing on all MSM outlets. What did they incessantly report of instead?

  • President Trump signs Bibles – Bibles! Oh the sacrilege! (as if anyone in their newsrooms knows sacrilege from Adam)

Tim plays along with the joke, changing his Twitter handle to “Tim Apple”

I think we should get the entire old band back together for a performance at next year’s SXSW festival:

Tim Apple
Jeff Amazon
Elon Tesla
Mark Facebook
Jack Twitter
Sundar Google

and really give the Cherokee Nation’s presidential hopeful something to breakup.

  • Coverage of AOC holding court at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, where she performed her act as the smartest woman in the room, revealing herself, again, to be the Millennial Moron.

AOC with old white global warming guy Bill Nye

"So you think about this image of welfare queens and what [Reagan] was really trying to talk about was ... this like really resentful vision of essentially black women who were doing nothing, that were 'sucks' on our country."

"And it's this whole tragedy of the commons type of thinking where it's like because ... this one specific group of people, that you are already kind of subconsciously primed to resent, you give them a different reason that's not explicit racism but still rooted in a racist caricature." — U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

If I weren’t so tired it would all be enough to make me weep for America. Perhaps that will come after I’ve had another cup of covfefe and begin to process this “daylight saving time” thing.

    Sundance 2018: “Awful and Boring”

    sundance copter

It has apparently taken the Hollywood world of navel gazers 36 years to notice what most of us have seen for decades:

Awful,” was the frank assessment of one studio executive. “Boring,” was the takeaway of another. “Who are these movies for?” griped an influential distributor.

Hint: this year’s lineup included not one but two movies about skate boarders, one exclusively girls.

After a week of premieres at the Eccles Theatre and the other makeshift movie palaces that line the snowy resort town, buyers complained that the movies in this year’s lineup were chronically weak, leaving them underwhelmed and frequently annoyed. That combined with the stark economic realities of the independent film business — where even great movies struggle to sell enough tickets to break even — made for a festival where the most common word heard around town was “pass.” – Variety

One only needs go as far as the New York Times (and I did – so fortunately you don’t have to) to understand this phenomenon (emphasis added).

PARK CITY, Utah — The world has finally gotten with the Sundance Film Festival. For years, thousands have flocked here sometimes for the love of movies, though at other times just because it seemed like a cool place to spend time and money. Each January, they would be met by high-minded reminders that the festival also nurtured talent, believed in story (a Sundance mantra) and embraced diversity. Those paying attention would notice that it generally made good on its principles with a slate that — good, dutiful or mediocre — was striking for its plurality of voices.

And so this year, women were hot (not in a sexist, demeaning way, of course!) along with black filmmakers (again). Except that the festival and its parent organization, the Sundance Institute, have been pushing and advocating for filmmakers who are not white men for much of their history…For the most part, the festival has been more invested in diversifying its filmmaker population than the kinds of movies it programs.

And just like everywhere else that merit takes a backseat to diversity, you eventually end up with a lot of mediocrity at best and “awful” and “boring” at worst. Translate this model to your ruling class and you get Washington D.C.. Specifically, you get old drones like Nancy Pelosi making racist allegations that Trump’s immigration plan is a "campaign to make America white again,"  and whine about the unfair treatment of illegals who are “playing by the rules” – a statement that surely should win the oxymoron of the week award. But Nancy still  wasn’t done, she proceeded to recite one of the sacred Democratic talking points on why sanctuary cities are actually a good thing for us:

"People don't understand—the one problem I think the current occupant of the White House—they don't understand that sanctuary cities is [sic] what helps law enforcement. It helps public safety," Pelosi said.

"If only they just understood how somebody could come forward if they know they're protected to help public safety, but they don't really want to know because that doesn't serve their purpose," Pelosi added.

Nancy would fit in well at Sundance: she’s female, good at memorizing her lines, is quite the story teller and provides us in the end with a product that is both awful and boring.

AFP-Getty_159649821When Nancy met Bobby: the intersectionality of politics and entertinment

By all accounts both film quality - which has never been consistently high - and attendance was down for this year’s Sundance Festival. In the event Hollywood (or Washington for that matter) actually wishes to gain insight as to why most of the country think they stink these days they need go no further than the comments on the Variety article cited above:

cadavra: Dare we hope that this navel-gazing rubbish about millennials whining about how miserable their lives are has finally hit the wall?

Jim B: Films are dreams on media and their elitist megalomania gives them dreams that make the rest of us want to purge them with fire.

Lori Smith: We have had our fill of mindless violence, teen angst, tales of abuse, etc. Wonder why they’re not selling? Ask someone outside the industry.

gloribea: Hollywood is over, its hey day gone. It has been stolen by the elite who are determined to push us toward a one world government. Hand in hand with the media they are trying to march us over the edge of sanity into madness.

Books Please: A pile of wretched films churned out by the joyless, soybean estrogen, iPhone-poking, SJW Participation Trophy generation that has never seen the inside of a library or cracked a book that doesn’t have a boy wizard on the cover, and you wonder why it’s dying? lol

In short, Fly Over Country is no longer buying your crap which bears little or no relation to their lives. You may want to work on that. I suggest you start by Making America Great Again. Because trust me Jack Black, that’s a better plan than making America rage again.

    Pink Floyd Monday

Apparently things really are spooky on the dark side of the moon.

    moon

Apollo astronauts who orbited the moon two months before Neil Armstrong's famous 1969 landing heard mysterious and unexplainable 'music' on its far side, out of the range of Earthly radio transmissions, it has emerged.

Recently unearthed recordings made by NASA of the journey, which took the Apollo 10 capsule around the far side of the moon, show the astronauts reacting with surprise and confusion to an unearthly howling noise in their headsets. – Daily Mail

Interesting, unless you fall in the group of conspiracy theorists who think the  whole NASA moon landing was a Stanley Kubrick production.

I choose to believe our astronauts, and welcome the story as a change of pace from politics on the campaign trail. As such, I’ll take this opportunity to showcase the music and lyrics from one of the best rock albums ever created:

    pink-floyd-dark-side-of-moon-poster

The cuts on this album showcase conflict, greed, the passage of time, and brain damage – come to think of it, it’s not so much different from politics after all. Oh well, just breathe. Enjoy as much or as little as you like…

    Time

    Breathe
    Breathe, breathe in the air
    Don't be afraid to care
    Leave but don't leave me
Look around and chose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

    Run, rabbit, run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.
    Money
    Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
    Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team

    Money, get back
I'm all right Jack, but keep your hands off my stack.
    Money, it's a hit
But don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

    Money, it's a crime
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie
    Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're
    giving none away
    Us and Them

    Us and Them
And after all we're only ordinary men
    Me, and you
God only knows it's not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
    and the front ranks died
And the General sat, and the lines on the map
    moved from side to side
    Black and Blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
    Up and Down
And in the end it's only round and round and round
Haven't you heard, it's a battle of words
    the poster bearer cried
Listen son, said the man with the gun
    There's room for you inside
    Brain Damage

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
    You lock the door
    And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

And I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon!

Reprise: The People of OWS: Like the People of Wal-Mart, Only Not As Smart

I would like to thank Turd Burgelstein for pointing out that all the whiners offended by micro-aggressions, BMI’s, white privilege and harsh stares are really just this year’s crop of POWS – People of Occupy Wall Street. I will do an update on the whiners and their professorial enablers when time permits, butt in the meantime, I thought it might be fun to repost this golden oldie: it was my most popular post ever and was picked up by the Daily Mail and linked by the Instapundit.

I do find it a bit odd however that after 4 years everyone’s still whining about the same old crap. All I can say about that is: Thank You Obama!

    (Originally Posted October 11, 2011)

While Lady M’s gearing up for her world record breaking jumping jack marathon, I’ve decided to perform a public service myself by highlighting the tragedy of OWS. Accordingly, I’m dedicating today’s post to the People of Occupy Wall Street (POWS). They’ll tell you in their own words how they came to be part of the 99%. A portion of all proceeds from today’s post will be donated to the 501(c)(9) charity, Graduates With Severe Economic Disorders. You can read their complete stories on the People of Occupy Wall Street website, where I’m betting you can make a donation too.

Here are the plights of just a few of the 99 percenters; I’ll let them tell you their stories in their own words:

    2003 - definitely bush's faultHome foreclosed in 2003? Definitely Bush’s fault.

hint - easier to get a job without nose ballsOnce you get your Psych degree you’ll probably be smart enough to figure out what the point is. Butt here’s a little free job advice: it’s easier to land a job without nose balls. Especially if you’re going into foodservice, which you will be with a degree in Psych.

did you get fries with that 7 year degree7 years? What did you major in, Government Efficiency Studies? And - this is just a nit - butt most people shorthand “thousand” with a “k” not a “g” – although the “g” does demonstrate creativity and independent thinking. Two things frowned on in Government, so maybe you could try foodservice too.

maybe you shouldn't bite the hand that feeds your familyTough lesson dude: Didn’t Mom ever tell you not to bite the hand that feeds you? Moron.

the borders don't keep you in either

This one is unreadable, butt here’s a transcription of her key points:

    “I want out!

I was told to be a Proud American and I’ve been fighting since high school to get out of this country.

I do not want to belong to a this society that first puts a blindfold on its people and then throws it into the unknown.”

Good news for you sweetheart! Since our borders can’t even keep people out, they sure can’t keep people like you in either! Don’t forget to pack hand sanitizer.

Political science - and you can't figure out why you can't get a job

A political science degree? Isn’t that special! And still you can’t figure out why you can’t find a job? Here’s a little hint that might help you out on that 128th job app: spend less time on your demands, more time on how you might be of some use to your potential employer. You know, because they’ll be paying you, not the other way around?

This POWS has a footnote under his message. Like the young lady above he, too, is feeling like he’ll be forced to join the great brain drain and emigrate to find opportunity:

“Was promised a future and have worked my ass off to actually deserve it. Now I’m feeling like my only chance is to pursue opportunities ANYWHERE BUT the United States.”

Good luck dude. I understand that Somalia is looking for a few good political science majors from a top tier school. Don’t forget your hand sanitizer either.

whoa - isn't anyone monitoring this siteWhoa! Tea Party alert! Five degrees, no debt, $150k income? Isn’t anyone monitoring this site?

you look like a smart girl wearing a black braYou look like a smart girl in a black bra, so let’s analyze together: 12 years of college, 3 degrees – one PhD (that’s a degree right? not a bra size?) – and still no decent job? Have you ever watched “What not to wear” honey? It couldn’t hurt. And I think it might help, as I see you do follow instructions well. That IS lucky!

what did I do wrong - duh teaching degreeWhat did you do wrong? Duh! Let’s take this from the top: Nobody gets their masters degree in education BEFORE getting a teaching job! That way they can hire you at a cheap rate, pay for your masters and, since the teachers union makes them, they’ll pay you a whole lot more for getting your masters degree – that they paid for. Sheeze! You’re really too dumb to be a teacher anyway.Sorry about the sexual harassment though. And your boss’ new motorcycles? What a capitalist pig.

so ok stay in botswansSo ok, have a nice life in Botswana. Don’t forget to write. You might want to ask Mom to send hand sanitizer.

    tumblr_lsv54kS8Lk1r25y9yo1_500

Wait, wait! Don’t tell me! You have a masters degree in something that ends in “studies” and starts with “women’s.” If your student loan really grew by $80k in  7 years of “underemployment” I’m betting you didn’t major in math. Or accounting. Or anything else that qualifies you to do anything other than inquire if your customers want to enjoy fries along with their order.

If I’m right, you weren’t “underemployed” you were “overcharged” for what passes as “an education” these days.

There are lots more stories from the annals of the POWS, and I’ll try to highlight a few more every day, just to remind ourselves of the challenges facing America in the months and years ahead.

There’s just one thing that confuses me: a lot of these POWS seem to be mad that they were forced to accumulate a ton of debt with the stew-dent loans that they were tricked into taking to support them for 7 years while completing their degrees in Recycling Studies and beer pong. Now they find out - not only can they not get a job in the field that they picked to “follow their bliss” butt they’re expected to pay their loans back too! That is so unfair. No wonder they want to spread the the other 1%’s wealth around.

Butt seriously: why are they occupying Wall Street? Shouldn’t they be occupying the administration buildings of the universities? Aren’t they the ones cranking out worthless degrees that they’re charging $10-100,000 a year for? How, exactly, is this Colgate-Palmolive’s fault? Other than the fact they’re successful, greedy capitalists?

Did greedy capitalists convince these hapless kids to spend a king’s ransom for a BA in World Politics? Did Exxon Mobil make them sign a contract to borrow $110K in exchange of a Masters in Global Social and Sustainable Enterprises? Did Bank of America trick the kids into borrowing more money than their useless degree is likely to generate in net worth in a lifetime?

I sure hate to spoil a good pity party, butt some people think the (mostly tax funded) education cartel is what created the Education Bubble. I’m sorry it burst. Butt if you’re going to protest, take it to the campuses. They’re even better equipped than Wall Street to recycle garbage. And they have nice warm buildings for when the weather turns on you.

A very special H/T to BKeyser for sharing this very special site with all of us, and for his own  contribution to the POWS:

Team Obama and Team GOP Play Prevent Defense: Drumsticks All Around

Well that was fun, butt it’s back to work today.

Michelle Obama Obamas Return Home South Africa jBqB9Gb5FD_lHappy, Happy, Happy!

I can’t believe that people are still talking about whether Lady M was really mad at Big Guy for his sophomoric antics at the memorial. I’m not going to discuss this any further, because I don’t want to be accused of being a racist. I will, however, direct you to a close up of our return to the Big White.

Michelle Obama Obamas Return Home South Africa LFyDj-ELJXBlLook closely: that is NOT smoke coming out of her nose/ears.

Suffice it to say I spent the evening in the bunker. Butt with so many new issues on deck, we’ll just let this one run it’s course.

Up first: yesterday’s latest Kitty hearings. First, you will be relieved to know that the Secretary of HHS has requested that her HHS Inspector General investigate what went wrong with the launch of Obamacare:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius…is asking the department’s inspector general to investigate the contracting process, management, performance and payment issues that may have contributed to the flawed launch of HealthCare.gov.

Although it sounds like House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa thinks it’s perhaps gone beyond the point where Kitty investigating Kitty will suffice:

(Issa) sent to Sebelius today, HHS “hostility toward questions from Congress and the media about the implementation of ObamaCare is well known.  The Department’s most recent effort to stonewall, however, has morphed from mere obstinacy into criminal obstruction of a congressional investigation.”

Summary: Kitty brought new glasses and a new bag to the hearing, otherwise it was just more of the same old…well, you know.

    Screenshot Studio capture #1558

I meant her necklace and squirty pin, what did  you think I meant?

    Screenshot Studio capture #1559

Next, we need to discuss the amazing bipartisan budget agreement reached last night! It’s really good news – no more government shutdowns and everyone can go home for Christmas! Nobody butt House leadership really got their Christmas wish, so everyone’s equally unhappy: conservatives are still wishing for some real cuts and progs are still wishing for some real tax increases on the “rich” (those increased airline fare taxes don’t really count, they're “fees”).

I understand conservatives are objecting that this was a sellout on the part of Paul Ryan and company. Butt then I heard Congressman Ryan tell Sean Hannity: “Guess what? Elections have consequences!”

Who knew?  Other than Big Guy who, I believe, was the first President to crassly gently point that out to Senator McCain and company in early 2010:

“The election is over, John,” I WON. Deal with it.

Secondly, elections have consequences only if the electorate doesn’t vote the bums incumbents out at the first opportunity. Which they frequently don’t when the opposing team is playing prevent defense* like team Romney Ryan did.

*a defensive strategy used in football when the defense believes the offense must pass the ball…the goal of this strategy is to "prevent" the offense from gaining any significant yardage or scoring a touchdown in a single play, hence the name of the strategy. This defense will allow the offense to gain yardage within a limit that still prevents it from gaining the yards it needs to score.

mitt bo candy finger pointingDon’t try to score on the black man: you’ll get a 15 yard penalty for being a racist

Amazingly, it looks like the GOP has opted to continue their prevent defense right through the midterms, holding the Progs to a measly tax gain now.

The advantage of using the prevent defense is it enables the defense to manage the gains the offense makes without giving up any big plays.

Let’s just hope they don’t give up too much yardage in the process.

The disadvantage is that if enough insignificant gains are made, the offense may actually reach the ability to score with a single play.

we won chinese versionLike they did last time.(“We Won”, Chinese edition)

Far be it from me to criticize. After all what do I know about football? Let’s ask somebody who does:

There are many coaches who do not believe in using the prevent defense simply for this fact. The famous NFL coach and later broadcaster John Madden once said, "All a prevent defense does is prevent you from winning."

I’m sure John would have needed all of the drumsticks from one of his famous 6-legged birds in order to properly acknowledge all of the contributors to this budget deal turkey.

Vacay 2, 2013: on Air Force Won-Too for Michelle

Of course we’re going to Aspen. It’s still the most exclusive ski resort in North America, (even though Joey B is going there this weekend too) isn’t it?

And don’t worry about Lady M’s nose being offended by the noxious smell wafting from Aspens “waste water” treatment plant. I understand it’s something you get used to, because the rich really are different from you and me. Apparently their s*** really doesn’t stink! Reason enough to book only the most exclusive and luxurious cruises and resorts.

Meanwhile, in order to earn her second luxurious vacay of 2013, Lady M conducted an interactive student workshop with school children from Washington D.C. and New Orleans and the cast and crew of the film “Beasts of the Southern Wild.”

Dressing For Success: Gun Control Style

The funeral for Chicago shooting victim Hadiya Pendleton, the 15 year old who had performed with her band at the Inaugural, was held yesterday. Big Guy’s “never let a crisis go to waste” team members

begged him to come “home” in order to bring national outrage attention to the problem of unemployed gang members gun violence in his “hometown.”

Unfortunately he was busy testing his new miniature handheld drones.Or something.

So he sent Lady M and Val Jar in his place.

Today’s question: which of these looks would MO feel most appropriate to wear?

The posthumous medal of Honor cocktail dress, the G-8 purple swing dress, the Nickelodeon oil-cloth outfit, the Black Jack Miss America sash frock or the full-dress black drop-dead  mourning outfit?

Oddly enough there was a photo blackout. That doesn’t generally happen at photo ops for issues we are trying to draw attention to, so maybe it was due to the recent facial fillers that hadn’t quite settled in yet.

All I was able to get was this blurry contraband video still. Again, oddly enough, it looks dark and appropriate.

I personally would have gone with the  Black Jack dress, which is equally charming both coming and going. If you don’t believe me, ask Dmitry.

My motto is: if you’re trying to draw attention to something, wear something that will grab people’s  attention.
